Idyllwild is located
in the San Jacinto Mountains above Palm Springs on the east and
Temecula / Hemet on the west. Idyllwild is also centrally
located between San Diego to the south and Los Angeles to the
north.

From Los Angeles
take either Hwy 60 to
I-10 or start on I-10 east to Banning...
From Long Beach /
Orange County take
the 91 to the 60 East to Banning...
In Banning exit at 8th Street
(Highway 243 to Idyllwild); follow the signs to Hwy 243, which
leads up the mountain; you’ll go through Pine Cove and then into
Idyllwild.
From Palm Springs
& Phoenix -
take I-10 west and
exit Hargrove (Idyllwild) in Banning and follow the Hwy 243
signs for Idyllwild.
From Palm Desert
- take SR
74 (Palms to Pines Hwy) through Garner Valley into Mountain
Center. In Mountain Center veer to the right onto Hwy 243 to
Idyllwild. Continue onto Hwy 243 until you reach North
Circle Drive (across from the Chevron Station) and turn right.
You are now in the center of Idyllwild Village.
From San Diego
take I-15 north to
SR79 South (first off ramp in Temecula); go east for 20-minutes
or so to a stop sign (not a light) and turn left onto SR 371
toward Anza; follow SR 371 another 20-minutes to the ridge and
turn left onto SR 74 at Paradise Corner (stop sign) toward
Idyllwild; continue through Garner Valley and to Idyllwild as
described for Palm Desert above.
